This extraordinary view of Whitehouse Monument was captured by Kesel after an extensive “4-wheeling” trip up the riverbed several miles outside Chinle, Arizona. The walls of Canyon de Chelly are more than 300 feet high and accented with varnish stripes from centuries of water running down the canyon walls. Whitehouse Monument is one of the best-preserved cliff dwellings built by the Anasazis back around 1200 A.D..
