On a crisp December morning at daybreak, Kesel captured this powerful image of San Xavier Mission near Tucson, Arizona. Arriving before daybreak, Kesel new from previous visits, that this would not only provide him with the best light, but, it was practically the only time of day that this shot from the parking lot across from the mission could be captured without being obstructed by the cars of parishoners or tourists.
Kesel set up his camera and tripod and waited for the sun to break over the horizon. The warm morning light cascading across the face of the mission, renders this historic landmark in all its beauty.
