Shot at sundown at Monument Valley, this Kesel image is truly magical. Kesel spent several days at Monument Valley, observing the structure of the various monuments and how the light palyed upon them at different times of day. Kesel learned the strong, warm light struck Mitten Butte just before sundown. By backing off from the monument, he was able to frame it with the lone, dead pine tree in the foreground. The light clouds that lay in the background add an interesting elegance and peace to this wondrous image.
